Profile
Born in Shimoda City, Shizuoka Prefecture
Participated in several national championships in track and field.
・University Life in Tokyo
I moved to Tokyo, having been accepted to Nikon University, where I joined the track and field club. Surrounded by Japan’s top level national athletes, I found it difficult to compete, despite practicing very hard. After one year, I decided to change focus, and put my skills to work as a manager for the team during my three remaining years. In that time, the team won the Kanto and National championships. My experiences there – and the special bonds I cultivated with my fellow teammates – remain my greatest treasures.
・Life in the USA
I worked day and night for two consecutive years to save enough money for my move to the USA, and at the age of 24, I left Japan for Los Angeles. While there, I worked as a sushi chef in Hollywood to support going to college. I completed my degree and gained invaluable life skills. I loved serving American customers, and looking back, I recognize that I gained much of my English communication skill and confidence during that time. Since retuning to Japan, I have worked as an insurance agent for fifteen years. With generous support from my clients, I have been able to expand my business to two offices – the head office in Shimizu-cho, and a branch office in Shimoda City.
・What I Gained From My Six Years in the USA
Living abroad is not easy for anyone. In fact, is not possible without the help and support of others. Each of us is unique, and our differences can create challenges, especially abroad. What is most important, I feel, is for these differences to be acknowledged, accepted, and respected by one another, building cooperative relationships.
・Our Promise to You
We will listen carefully to your wishes and act in your best interest toward a resolution. Feel free to contact us about your visa, your family, and your life in Japan. We will do our utmost to serve you.
